Interviewed by Sky News after writing to the US government concerning the treatment of Bradley Manning.
Welcomed Corsican MEP Francois Alfonsi and Corsican journalists to Cardiff to study Welsh language policies and visit the Senedd.
Gave evidence at the hearing in Rhyl on Denbighshire Council’s Local Development Plan, and specifically against the concentration of new housing development in Bodelwyddan which would have a serious impact on the local community and language and culture.
Secured a commitment from Martin Schultz, newly-elected President of the European Parliament, to retable the issue of the interpretation of ‘co-official’ languages like Welsh in the parliament.
Held a press conference to welcome new MEP Ana Miranda of Galicia to the EFA group. She replaces the Catalan member, Oriol Junqueras.
Co-hosted the annual Farmers’ Union of Wales breakfast in the European Parliament in Brussels to promote Welsh produce and healthy eating.
Appointed a new assistant in my Brussels office to replace Sara Davies who leaves in February. Scarlett Butler will start work on 1st March.
